Vanished is a minimalist script and audio-visual exploration of psychological fragmentation, utilizing the spatial isolation of a decaying spacecraft to externalize the collapse of certainty. The piece confines its sole surviving crew member, Siena Monterey, within a failing technological apparatus (Gaia 3). As the ship’s systems slowly degrade, so too does the boundary between Siena’s lucid logic and her descent into dissociation.

Told entirely through her isolated perspective, the narrative blurs the rigid structure of formal distress calls with poetic stream-of-consciousness. Siena’s desperate attempts to negotiate with an unresponsive, glitching board computer highlight the harsh friction between visceral human grief and unfeeling, systemic indifference. Haunted by collapsing timelines and the phantoms of her past, she is forced to search for meaning in an absolute void.

Developed through an intertwined visual and textual writing process, the work deliberately strips away traditional narrative resolution. Instead, it functions as a distilled monologue about the architecture of loneliness—questioning the reliability of memory, the burden of survival, and what it means to still be alive when no one answers back.
