Une Petite Hiroba is a multilingual ensemble performance exploring everyday life through language, identity, and fragmented memory.

The work brings together a multilingual community in which every performer speaks at least two languages. English unfolds alongside Ukrainian, Russian, German, Hungarian, Maltese, Greek, Japanese, Italian, French, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Spanish. Rather than treating language as a barrier, the performance explores how it shapes belonging, misunderstanding, and human connection.

As a deviser and performer, I worked across these shifting languages, focusing on cultural nuance, emotional texture, and moments that resist translation.

Inspired by Édouard Glissant's concept of opacity, the performance embraces the coexistence of multiple perspectives without reducing them to a single narrative. It creates a space where connection emerges through language, gesture, and shared experience rather than complete understanding.
